London 13th November (Thursday)
For the past four days since Monday (11/8) until today I have been commuting daily to Malaysia Hall at Queenborough Terrace (Bayswater) for lunch. I made it mandatory to relish the home cooking.
Unlike the past 3 days where I lunched steam rice, today I ate Nasi lemak with "sambal udang besar and petai" and "sambal ikan kembong too". And to help me down the food better, a cup of teh tarik too. For the start a slice of "tepong talam". It could me BP8.50 today including BP1.0 (enam ringgit) for teh tarik and BP0.50 (tiga ringgit) for the tepong talam.
The canteen operator Awie and his wife originated from Sg. Petani at Taman Berlian. When I talked to Awie's wife yesterday she seemes to know Khairi's family (Arwah Hj Aziz and Mak teh) of Taman Peruda.
They have been here for more than eleven years.

Getting Around by "Just Ask"
London 11th November 2008
One principle that I holds dearly when traveling is never be afraid “to ask”. I will ask whenever I am not sure. On whatever that will get me out of the situation.
Few examples surfaced during this trip:
1. I was going to buy the bus ticket on Saturday morning at Euston Street to Regents College at Baker Street. In London bus tickets must be from purchased from ticket machines before boarding. And they need exact change. And in coins too. And I found myself of not having the requisite BP2.00 in coins.
Then I remembered the cafĂ© bookshop that I went in earlier to buy the stationery. I was informed that they don’t sell stationery. Anyway I have struck a conversation with the person manning the bookshop. So I backtrack and “ASKED” him for help. Of course (what else) he obliged and I got the coins for the tickets. Bingo!
2. Walking on my way to Regents College I passed Madame Tassoud the famous wax museum and one of the London’s most famous visitors’ landmark. I would like my picture taken. So what else. I “ASKED” somebody to snap my picture. Again done!
3. I am not sure how best to travel in Central London at the cheapest possible. I “ASKED” at the ticket assistance. A ticket for single ride cost BP2.00 and will cost me substantially for few rides during the day. The gentleman advised me to purchase the daily ticket for BP5.30. I was very glad I did.
3. With that ticket on 10th November 2008 I made a few rides: 1. Russel Square to Marble Arch ; 2 Marble Arch to Queensborough ; 3 Queensborough to Russel Square ; 4. Russel Square to Hyde Park 5. Hyde Park to Green Park 6. Picaddily Circus to Russel Square.
Just ASK AND Wow!
4. I was in a fixed of the return journey to London Heathrow International Airport. I had a tough time on arrival with three pieces of luggage and dragging them in and out of tube. Luckilly I manage to squeezed the cabin bag into one of the bigger bags. However, it’s not possible to go with the tube with 3 fully grown bags. Going with cab ( taxi) is the easiest mode but the most expensive at nearly BP50. Again asking the hotel’s concierge prove a help. The door to door is available withone day advance booking at BP20.

Hujan masih mencurah. Kasut basah kuyup dimasuki air. rehat.
Petang Jam 2.30 keluar semula. Masih hujan. Aku naik "tube" menggunakan tiket 'all day" pagi tadin untuk keHyde Park.
Meredah hujan selanjang Picaddily Street. Akhirnya sampai.
Mencari buku sambil relaks.
